i. SaveME 999 DEAF Privacy Policy

SaveME 999 DEAF “the App” is designed for Malaysians with speech-impaired, hearing-impaired or both ONLY.

For this group of people, SaveME 999 serves as a tool for them to call for emergency assistance via non-voice communication.  SaveME 999 application utilizes the internet broadband to transmit the next messages. In addition, it also uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) in smart phones to identify the location of the user.

User can activate the application by pressing the ‘SaveME 999’ icon on the smart phone. The GPS address and the sender’s details such as name, telephone number, type of emergency and location will be transmitted automatically to MERS 999 Response Center(RC). Additional information about the incident detail and location detail can be added in the message. This information will assist the emergency agencies to send the help fast and accurate. SaveME 999 will provide distinctive benefits for Malaysian with speech and hearing impaired by providing nationwide coverage catering all types of emergencies.

This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used and shared when you install or use the App in connection with an emergency agency such as Polis DiRaja Malaysia(PDRM), Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia(JBPM), Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia(KKM), Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia(APM) and Angkatan Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM)

ii. Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the SaveME 999 DEAF, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your registered SaveME 999 DEAF application such as your name, gender, identification card no, address, phone number, type of incident and incident location.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We collect personal information directly when you send emergency request through your SaveME 999 DEAF apps in order to provide the Emergency Services.

Additionally, we use this personal information to communicate with you to get detail information before emergency agencies reach to your location to send the required help fast and accurate.

iii. Sharing Your Personal Information

MERS 999 Response Center (RC) and Emergency Agencies such as Polis DiRaja Malaysia(PDRM), Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia(JBPM), Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia(KKM), Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia(APM) and Angkatan Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) may use your information.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations (Personal Data Protection Act 2010) to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

iv. Data Retention

When you register or send emergency request through the application, we will maintain your Information for our records.

v. Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
